Auto Oil Change Service
Getting an oil change is one of those maintenance chores every driver knows they need to do yet constantly puts off. However the question really shouldn’t be “how long can I go without an oil change?” but, “how long until my next oil change?”
Here at K&W, we have all the necessary tools at each of our store locations to make sure your vehicle stays healthy and gets the regular auto oil change service it needs. (It’s just up to you to bring it in.)
What Happens If I Put My Oil Change Off?
Going too long without an oil change can result in a number of problems with your vehicle, and it could even cost you your car if put it off long enough. Oil helps clean out your engine. Neglecting an oil change can cause your engine to overheat and fail, opening your vehicle up to other major issues down the road.
Bottom line: if your vehicle is due for an oil change, don’t wait. An oil change can typically take place in a day, and it’ll save you a whole lot of money, time, and headaches in the long run.
How to Know You Need an Oil Change
Signs your vehicle is in need of an oil change are:
- Check engine or oil change light is on
- Engine noise
- Dirty oil
- Oil smell
- Exhaust smoke
- Excessive mileage
- 5,000-7,500 miles
- 15,000 miles if your vehicle requires full-synthetic oil
Every time you get an oil change, you’ll get a sticker on your windshield giving you a date and mileage marker of when to bring your vehicle in. Often overlooked, it’s a helpful reminder to help you plan for your next auto oil change service.
The easiest way to relieve the worry of future issues stemming from neglecting your oil change is to simply make sure you’re following these guidelines. If you do that, you’ll be good to go.
